A new ‘whodunnit’ series with a feisty and fiery twist.
On Monday, March 3, the new GMA Entertainment Group production titled ‘Slay’ made its premiere on the pan-Asian over-the-top streaming platform Viu.
The mystery drama series stars Julie Anne San Jose, Gabbi Garcia, Mikee Quintos, Ysabel Ortega, Derrick Monasterio, Royce Cabrera, and Jay Ortega.
It will follow the case of Coach Zach (Derrick), a fitness influencer who dies after being burnt alive during a video shoot.
The four suspects in the case are four women, namely Liv (Julie Anne), Amelie (Gabbi), Sugar (Mikee), and Yana (Ysabel). Do take note of how their name all starts with the letters that form the show’s title.
‘Slay’ is the first Viu Original series of GMA Network and Viu Philippines. Although, it is not the first Kapuso content to make it to the platform.
In the past, several Kapuso shows have already been made available on the platform, such as ‘Encantadia (2016),’ ‘Lolong,’ ‘The Gift,’ ‘The Write One,’ and ‘Love Before Sunrise.’
The new drama is also one of the mystery dramas, dubbed suspenseryes, produced by GMA in recent years, a slate that includes ‘Widows’ Web’ in 2022, ‘Royal Blood’ in 2023, and ‘Widows’ War’ in 2024.
