In a statement on Monday, February 24, Philippine President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. delivered his message of affection for Pope Francis, who has been in the hospital for the past 10 days.
“Nakakalungkot na marinig ang malubhang karamdaman ni Pope Francis. Sa mga sandaling ito, kaisa tayo ng buong mundo sa panalangin para sa kanyang kalakasan at paggaling,” said Marcos.
He added, “Nawa’y patuloy siyang patnubayan at palakasin ng Panginoon upang magpatuloy sa kanyang misyon ng pananampalataya at pagmamahal sa sangkatauhan.“
Meanwhile, in a bulletin provided by the Holy See Press Office, they shared the current condition of the Pontiff.
“The night went well; the Pope slept and is resting,” the office noted.
This came a day after they revealed that while the 88-year-old Pope’s thrombocytopenia remains stable, some of his blood tests show early, mild renal insufficiency, “which is currently under control.”
Pope Francis was hospitalized at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome, Italy on Friday, February 14 due to his double pneumonia.
