The upcoming 74th edition will mark the Thailand’s fourth time hosting the pageant, with the competitions in 1992, 2005, and 2018 held in the Southeast Asian country.

The latest edition held in Bangkok was historic for the Philippines, as that year saw Catriona Gray won the coveted Miss Universe crown, thereby becoming the fourth Filipina to do so.

Apart from Thailand, also shortlisted as possible venues for MU 2025 were the Philippines, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Spain, South Africa, and Nigeria.

Miss Universe held its most-recent pageant in Mexico City last November 2024, where it crowned Victoria Kjaer Theilvig from Denmark as its first queen from the said European country.
