She was with the league for four years.

In an Instagram post, sportscaster Mara Aquino bade farewell to Mobile Legends Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines.

“This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write,” she opened her lengthy post.

“Walking away from something you love is never easy, and MPL has been more than just a job for me—it has been my home, my family, and my life,” Aquino wrote.

“For almost four years, I have had the privilege of standing on that stage, watching dreams come true and feeling the heartbreak of those who fell short. I have announced champions, seen tears of joy and disappointment, and shared moments that will forever be part of esports history,” she added.

Mara contiued, “Together, we have celebrated victories and endured painful losses. Every moment we’ve shared means the world to me and I will carry it with me always.“

The sportscaster then shared that she had come to that “it’s time for me to step away,” a decision that she did not make lightly, but in heart, “it’s the right one.“

“Letting go is never easy, but I believe that growth means allowing ourselves to evolve, even when it’s uncomfortable. It means embracing the unknown and having the courage to recreate ourselves when we know, deep down, that it’s time for change. And while this decision is difficult, I know in my heart that it’s time.“

Mara gave her thanks to casters, players, teams, and the MLBB community, which she wrote were “the reason I came to work every day, giving everything I could.“

Apart from them, the host also gave a shoutout to the production team and staff.

“This may be goodbye to MPL, but it’s not goodbye forever. I hope you’ll continue to support me in whatever comes next because, just like in the games we love, every ending is just an opportunity to respawn and start fresh,” she wtote before saying “see you next time” to everyone.

Mara, who came from Sports5 (now known as One Sports), joined the MPL Philippines as its host in 2021.
