The airline is affected by the upcoming changes at Manila’s main airport.
In an announcement, budget carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) that its regional service Cebgo (DG) will be shifting its operations to Clark International Airport (CRK) effective March 30, 2025.
The said move is a result of changes at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL), which will progressively remove flights utilizing turboprop airplines to add more room to bigger aircrafts.
According to the regional carrier, affected services are its Manila-Masbate-Manila route, with the codes DG6177/6178, and Manila-Siargao-Manila, DG6837/6838; DG6839/6840; and DG6841/6842.
They will be relocated to CRK, with new codes being deployed for Clark-Masbate-Clark (DG6171/6172) and Clark-Siargao-Clark (DG6759/6760 and DG6761/6762).
Cebgo advised passengers from Manila who would like to reach Siargao that they have the option to connect via Cebu.
According to the group, composed of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), and the New NAIA Infrastructure Corp (NNIC), this will help “maximize” the airport’s facilities.
At present, these smaller planes, which can handle up about 60 passengers in each flight, connects the capital to island destinations like Busuanga (Coron), Camiguin, and popular surfing hotspot Siargao.
As per the timeline provided, these turboprop flights must have shifted to secondary airports by October 2025.
