On Monday, January 20, internationally-renowned chef and restauranteur Gordon Ramsay held an interactive live cooking show at Newport World Resorts in Pasay City.

One of the participants in the said showcase is Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actress awardee Judy Ann Santos, who also happens to be the host of the Filipino ‘MasterChef’ franchise from 2011 until 2013.

For the said program, Ramsay, who also serves as judge in the UK and US versions of the mentioned reality-cooking competition, took its elements and challenged the guests to create their own halo-halo within 10 minutes.

‘Juday’ went head-to-head with YouTuber Ryan Reyes — popularly known as Ninong Ry, Danica Lucero from Center for Culinary Arts Manila, and Bea Qua of Ramsay’s Bar and Grill branch in Manila.

The actress prepared a black sesame halo-halo with nata de coco, with coconut milk and evaporated milk for the ice, leche flan, cheese, and jackfruit.

“It’s good… really good. I like that black sesame,” Gordon reacted to Judy Ann’s recipe.

Eventually though, chef Danica Lucero won the challenge.

In an Instagram post, Santos described the experience to be “surreal,” as she never though that this would happen in her lifetime.

She wrote, “[I]lang beses kong kinukurot yung sarili ko.. totoo ba to? Pinaprank ba ko? Pero totoo, eh! Gusto kong tumambling sabay split!”

“Simpleng halo halo lang naman, that we have to finish building in 10 min., but that was the fastest, nerve wrecking 10 minutes of my life! But, it was the best! Hindi ko alam what i did to deserve this, but I am so grateful for the experience. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone involved in this wonderful experience,” Juday added.
