The noontime show’s popular fares in recent past return for another run.
On Monday, January 20, ABS-CBN noontime program ‘It’s Showtime’ debuted the second seasons of two pandemic-era portions.
First of the pair is ‘Sexy Babe,’ dubbed as the “hottest search on national TV,” a segment where confident women compete to not only flaunt their sexy bods, but also to showcase their wit and confidence.
Sam Coloso, who is the first grand champion, returned to the show, joined her fellow participants during the inaugural year, including host Cianne Dominguez, for the opening number.
‘Sexy Babe’ ran from December 2021 until July 2022, and is notably one of the first few portions to air upon the launch of the TV5 simulcast of ‘It’s Showtime’ a few years back.
It also replaced ‘And The Breadwinner Is,’ which served as both the promotional segment for Vice Ganda’s film and the revamp of ‘Trabahula.’
After that, also making its return on the same episode is ‘Hide and Sing,’ where guest artists try to guess the celebrity among the three mystery singers.
For the second run, ‘Primetime Action Hero’ and 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Best Supporting Actor winner Ruru Madrid was invited to become the ‘TagoHula.’
In the end, he was not able to pick correctly the mystery celebrity, who is none other than ‘Asia’s Nightingale,’ Lani Misalucha.
‘Hide and Sing’ was launched during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
‘It’s Showtime’ airs on multiple platforms, including free-to-air TV networks GMA, ALLTV, and A2Z.
