It is the search for the next “global boy group.”
Philippine terrestrial network TV5 and Korean talent management group MLD Entertainment are teaming-up for the newest survival reality show on television.
Titled ‘Be The Next: 9 Dreamers,’ it promises to bring together talented men from across the Asian continent to compete for the chance to make it to the global stage through a 9-member boy group that will be formed after the show.
74 participants are confirmed to have been pre-selected from auditionees that joined the global audition process, which was held in 2024.
K-pop superstar Sandara Park of 2NE1 will serve as the main host, while a powerful celebrity mentor line-up will guide the contestants.
The panel is composed of EXO’s Chen, Momoland’s Hyebin, AB6IX’s Park Woo Jin, Bang Yedam, and HORI7ON’ s Vinci Malizon.
Korean choreographer Bae Wan Hee and producer Bullseye will also be in the show as dance mentors.
‘Be The Next: 9 Dreamers’ is slated to begin airing on Saturday, February 8 at 7:15 pm on TV5.
The said survival show also marks the second survival show co-produced by MLD in the Philippines, with the first being ‘Dream Maker’ with ABS-CBN Studios and KAMP Korea back in 2022.
After that program ended its run in 2023, it formed the 7-member all-Filipino boy band HORI7ON, which debuted in South Korea in July that year.
