In a Facebook post, veteran broadcast journalist shared Trendrod’s article for the ‘Best Shows of 2024’ after his ANC program ‘Beyond The Exchange’ ranked 18th in the said special feature.
He wrote, “[h]onored and humbled that “Beyond The Exchange with Rico Hizon” has earned a spot on Trendrod’s Top 40 ‘Best Shows’ for 2024 TV and Streaming Media list, ranking #18 among top entertainment, news and current affairs programs, just two months in!”
He then gave a “huge thank you to the incredible B-TEX team, ABS-CBN News Channel management, and of course, all of our viewers across cable and digital platforms. Your support means the world. Proud to be KAPAMILYA! To God be the Glory!”
‘Beyond The Exchange’ marks Rico Hizon’s television comeback after being previously associated with CNN Philippines, which was closed down in January 2024.
While with his former home station, he was able to host the award-winning nightly news and talk program ‘The Final Word’ and the weekly business news show ‘The Exchange,’ where the new program title presumably references.
Hizon had previously been a face of global news media giants BBC World News and CNBC Asia.
After the shutdown of CNN Philippines, he briefly left broadcasting altogether and joined SM Investments Corporation as its senior vice president for corporate relations in May 2024, where he also concurrently hosts the conglomerate’s digital show ‘SM In Focus’ on YouTube.
