More than a year after members ventured into various solo projects.
In various reports published by Korean media outlets, globally-popular Korean pop group BLACKPINK is making its comeback before mid-year.
This, as the quartet composed of members Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé will purportedly release their first album in nearly three years in May 2025.
Immediately after their comeback, they will be going on a world tour, with stops in Asia, Europe, and North America.
The group’s label YG Entertainment has not yet issued a statement over the supposed plans, given that South Korea is currently in a period of national mourning after the fatal crash of JejuAir flight 2216 in Muan last Sunday, December 29.
However, in a video published last year, the agency’s founder Yang Hyun-suk had already confirmed plans for BLACKPINK to make its comeback in 2025,
The four-piece group made their official debut on August 8, 2016, and became well-known in their home country and abroad.
This is due to their successive hit songs ‘Whistle,’ ‘Boombayah,’ ‘Playing with Fire,’ ‘As If It’s Your Last,’ ‘Ddu-du Ddu-du,’ ‘Kill This Love,’ ‘Lovesick Girls,’ ‘Pink Venom,’ and ‘Shut Down,’ among many others.
In late 2023, they ended their individual management contracts with YG Entertainment in favor of establishing their own companies.
Although, they remain signed with the agency for their group activities.
In 2024, three members did their respective individual music.
Jennie was the featured artist for Zico’s song ‘Spot!’, that was later followed by her song ‘Mantra’ in October.
Lisa dropped the singles ‘Rockstar,’ ‘New Woman,’ and ‘Moonlit Floor,’ which are all set to be part of her upcoming debut solo album ‘Alter Ego’ in February 2025.
Meanwhile, last December, Rosé issued her debut solo album ‘Rosie’ carrying smash hit single ‘Apt.’ featuring Bruno Mars and ‘number one girl,’ among others.

I can’t believe it I was so sad when blackpink wasn’t together. They work better as a team. Thanks for informing me I really appreciate it but I won’t be able to go to their concerts but atleast they are making a comeback as my favorite K-pop band singers😊🤗
