The Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation’s chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, said in article published by The Philippine Star, that the company will be offering toll-free access to its expressways during the holiday season.
Pangilinan said that they are offering such as a “humble gift for families who want to maximize their time together.”
No toll fees will be collected on the following MPTC tollways from 10:00 pm of December 24 until 6:00 am on December 25, and again from 10:00 pm on December 31 until 6:00 am of January 1, 2025.
This will apply to vehicles using the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), NLEX Connector roadways, Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), and the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).
The announcement comes days after San Miguel Corporation, through its subsidiary SMC Infrastracture, shared that they are offering toll-free access to their own set of operated highways, such as the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), during the same period as MPTC’s.
SMC Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang said that it is the company’s way of saying thanks to the thousands that pass through their roadways everyday.
“This is our way of saying thank you to everyone who uses the expressways we operate. It’s something we look forward to every year because it helps thousands of motorists get home to their families a little easier, especially during Christmas and New Year,” Ang said.
