All members are joining the switch.
Korean pop band THE BOYZ have officially made their switch to their new agency after the termination of their contract with their former label, IST Entertainment.
All 11 members, namely Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Changmin (Q), Haknyeon, Sunwoo, and Eric, have signed with the ONE HUNDRED group.
The company is owned by known producer-musician MC Mong and Cha Ga Won and under its umbrella are Big Planet Made — home to SHINee’s Taemin, Viviz, former NU’EST member Ren, and Ha Sung Woon of Wanna One — and INB100 that houses EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin.
Prior to leaving IST, there have been concerns regarding THE BOYZ’s name, as the trademark is owned by their previous label.
But in a statement on Thursday, December 5, One Hundred, citing IST’s words, said that the former management group has let the members of the band to continue promoting under the name.
Although, conditions have been reportedly set, which include IST retaining master rights for all past music releases, they will ask permission and pay fees to perform their past songs, the company will also be selling merchandise items in its inventory, and THE BOYZ members will receive earnings from their past releases for 1 year after the termination of the contract.
THE BOYZ debuted in 2017 and, over the years, have released songs like ‘Boy,’ ‘No Air,’ ‘Bloom Bloom,’ ‘DDD,’ ‘The Stealer,’ ‘Maverick,’ ‘Thrill Ride,’ ‘Whisper,’ ‘Roar,’ ‘Lip Gloss,’ and ‘Watch It.’
Last October 28, they returned with their newest extended play ‘Trigger,’ which carries the namesake title track.
Prior to leaving IST, they also released the track ‘Last Kiss,’ which marked the end of their chapter at the company.
