Music made by the ‘Kings of P-pop,’ SB19, will soon be one of the 40,000 works worldwide that will be sent to the Moon.
This, as the Lunar Codex project recently confirmed that five-member Filipino pop group’s discography will be part of its upcoming mission in 2025.
According to its website, the said program was founded by artist and physicist Samuel Peralta and aims to compile various works of art “from writers, musicians, and filmmakers from 185 countries and territories and 160 indigenous nations” through a time capsule.
Aside from them, GMA Network’s ongoing primetime mega-series ‘Pulang Araw,’ topbilled by Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, and David Licauco will become the only Filipino television drama to be deposited to the celestial body.
The Kapuso drama will be on the seventh and final flight named Polaris, which will be launched to the Nobile Crater in the Lunar South Pole region of the moon via the NASA CLPS-T0-20A mission in October 2025.
As for SB19, they released their first collaboration song with rapper Gloc-9, titled ‘Kalakal,’ back in September.
In October, the band consisting of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin hit a new career milestone after celebrating their sixth anniversary with a ‘ThanksgiVIng’ fan meeting at the Araneta Coliseum.
