The series is an adaptation of a hit Japanese television drama.
ABS-CBN Studios’ newest offering ‘Saving Grace,’ starring Julia Montes and Sharon Cuneta, has begun streaming on Prime Video on Thursday, November 28.
The said series is Filipino adaptation of the popular Japanese drama titled ‘Mother,’ which was first broadcast by Nippon TV in April 2010 and starred Yasuko Mastuyuki.
Since its release almost 15 years ago, ‘Mother’ has been localized in nine (9) other countries, including South Korea, China, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, France, and Spain.
This development makes ‘Saving Grace’ the 10th adaptation, as wellnas the fourth ABS-CBN production to premiere first or exclusively on the platform.
It follows Arjo Atayde’s ‘Cattleya Killer,’ and Kim Chiu’s ‘Fit Check: Confessions Of An Ukay Queen,’ and ‘Linlang.’
‘Saving Grace’ also marks both the small-screen comeback and reunion of Julia Montes and Sharon Cuneta, following their respective stints as Mara and Aurora in the longest-running primetime action drama ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ in 2021.
Joining them in the cast of the new drama are new child star Zia Grace, Sam Milby, Janice de Belen, Jennica Garcia, Christian Bables, Eric Fructoso, and Elisse Joson, among many others.
It is under the direction of FM Reyes and Dolly Dulu.
Aside from Prime Video, ‘Saving Grace’ will also be reportedly aired on primetime via ABS-CBN platforms sometime in 2025.
