The “Comedy Genius” has once again made people laugh with his take on a popular song.
On Sunday, November 24, GMA’s longest-running sketch comedy program ‘Bubble Gang’ aired the second part of its 29th anniversary special.
During which, main man Michael V. had a segment from the ‘Waste Truck,’ the alternative to the Wish 107.5 Bus.
There, he performed his parody song titled ‘Hilaw’ as the character Yaki, the fictionalized version of trending Original Filipino Music (OPM) singer Maki.
Based on the chart-topping song ‘Dilaw,’ Bitoy’s song called out and poked fun at people doing conyo language, who are generally known to be speaking the informal mix of English and Filipino.
The official online uploads of Yaki’s ‘Hilaw’ have, so far, garnered more than 100,000 views on video-sharing platform YouTube.
Prior to the release of the parody song on Sunday, the original singer himself had already given his positive reaction to it.
“[M]y ‘I made it’ moment, I fear,” Maki wrote on his official account on X, formerly Twitter.
The ‘Dilaw’ parody comes after Michael V’s viral rendition of P-pop girl group BINI’s ‘Salamin, Salamin,’ which he tweaked and gave a murder-mystery twist by making it ‘Salarin, Salarin.’
Meanwhile, Maki is currently preparing for his two-night sold-out debut solo concert at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City on Friday, November 29, and Saturday, November 30, 2024.
