He is set to return to the White House after four years.

On Wednesday morning, November 6, multiple American media outlets have called the race in the 2024 elections and declared former President Donald J. Trump as the United States’ 47th President.

This, as Trump secured wins in multiple swing states like Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin — where, after collecting the state’s 10 electoral votes, allowed him to break the 270 votes threshold in the projections of the Associated Press.

Meanwhile, his main opponent, the Democratic Presidential nominee and incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris fell short, after stalling at 219 electoral votes.

Despite that, the former and future POTUS had already declared himself the winner earlier in the day as he delivered his victory speech in West Palm Beach, Florida after Fox News predicted his win in the race.

There, he reiterated his plans upon assuming the post anew, such as the immigration crackdown and mass deportation.

Trump also described his campaign to return to the Presidency as “a movement like no one has seen before,” which his running mate and presumptive Vice President-elect J.D. Vance echoed after illustrating it as “the greatest political comeback in American history.”

With this victory, Donald Trump is set to become the second President in US history to serve in two non-consecutive terms. He follows the 22nd and 24th POTUS Grover Cleveland, who served from 1885-1889, before returning to the White House in 1893.

He, however, is the first in many categories. Trump is the oldest-ever to be elected President of the United States at 78 years old and the first convicted felon to assume the post (for his hush money case in New York).

But the second Trump administration will not start until two months after election day, as his victory would still have to be certified by Congress on January 6, 2025, before he heads to Washington, D.C. for his second inauguration, which has been scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025.
