It is home to highlights and full episodes of various Kapamilya programs, as well as digital originals.
On Wednesday, October 16, Filipino media giant ABS-CBN’s flagship YouTube page, ABS-CBN Entertainment, reached a new milestone.
The channel has breached 50 million subscribers, becoming the first Filipino company or content creator in the video-sharing site’s history to make the record.
Prior to which, the Kapamilya network has consistently been the most-subscribed channel in the Philippines, and even in the entire Southeast Asia.
The ABS-CBN Entertainment channel houses more than 231,000 videos and accumulated almost 56 billion views since it was created in 2008.
This is on top of its daily live streaming of the media giant’s productions through the free Kapamilya Online Live web-based channel, which was then launched as an official service in August 2020.
KOL is a key product of ABS-CBN after it pivoted itself from a major broadcast player into a largely digital broadcaster and content provider after the shutdown of its free-to-air stations and the denial of its franchise renewal bid.
Through Kapamilya Online Live, the simultaneous screening of its programs on linear television and social media from daytime to primetime has been made possible.
At present, top-rated action-drama series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ holds the record for the all-time high live concurrent viewership when it peaked at nearly 800K views earlier this month.
Aside from that, the ABS-CBN Entertainment channel also hosts original ‘Made For YouTube’ content like ‘How To Move On In 30 Days,’ ‘ReTox: 2 Be Continued,’ the new rom-com drama ‘Halfmates’ starring Jeremiah Lisbo and Kaori Oinuma, and the trending Visayan-language talk show ‘Kuan On One’ with Melai Cantiveros.
