The program aired its finale episode last month.
Last Saturday, October 5, GMA Network began airing a new Saturday morning block without one of its long-running shows.
Gone from the line-up is ‘Sarap ‘Di Ba,’ which was hosted by Carmina Villaroel and her real-life twin children Mavy and Cassy Legazpi.
The morning talk and variety show, which was scheduled to air at 10:00 am, had its time slot taken over by an expanded Astig Authority block from 8:00 am to 11:15 am.
As of the moment, GMA has not yet named a permanent replacement for the weekly show, nor has it issued a statement on the cancelation of the program.
‘Sarap’ first aired in 2012 as ‘Sarap Diva,’ a talk and lifestyle show hosted by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.
The singer fronted the program until her departure from GMA Network in October 2018 to join ABS-CBN’s musical-variety show ‘ASAP.’
The week after Velasquez-Alcasid’s farewell, the show was retooled as ‘Sarap ‘Di Ba?’ with its current set of hosts.
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns, Zoren Legazpi, husband of Carmina and father of the twins, also joined the show as it temporarily shifted to a shoot-from-home basis.
In September, reports from GMA-affiliated entertainment website PEP.ph reported through blind item that a weekly morning show will be bowing out after a long run.
While not giving exact details, the clues pointed to ‘Sarap ‘Di Ba?’ and the move to cancel the show has so far been executed, considering the current circumstances.
Apart from ‘Sarap,’ Carmina’s other show, the long-running daytime soap opera ‘Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap’ will also end its run on Saturday, October 19.
