The platform aims to streamline over-the-top (OTT) app subscriptions of its users.
On Thursday, September 26, Mediaquest-owned satellite pay television and over-the-top content provider Cignal began the pilot testing for its newest product, Cignal Super.
Via ‘Super,’ subscribers will be able to unify their subscription to streaming platforms and experience a streamlined user interface.
At present, the test includes content library from Viu, Lionsgate Play, Curiosity Stream, Fuse+, as well as Mediaquest’s very own platforms Cignal Play and the sports-centric Pilipinas Live.
Mediaquest CEO Jane Basas said that the group is excited to launch the service, as it is “the first of its kind in the Philippines.”
“With content becoming increasingly fragmented, and streaming subscription prices increasing, we believe this service will be compelling and relevant for our customers as we simplify access to content from multiple apps into one platform – with a single subscription, unified content discovery, and one affordable price,” Basas added.
The Cignal Super app has its cloud-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) provided by Tata Play Binge.
