The local Billboard publication will celebrate its first anniversary soon.
On Sunday, September 8, Billboard Philippines announced the staging of its ‘Mainstage’ concert to mark its first anniversary next month.
The anniversary concert, which will take place at the Mall of Asia Arena on October 15, 2024 starting at 7:00 pm, will bring under one roof some of today’s biggest and legendary original Filipino music (OPM) acts.
Part of the slate of performers are Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, SB19, BINI, Ben&Ben, Yeng Constantino, Moira dela Torre, Erik Santos, Sandwich, KZ Tandingan, James Reid, Dilaw, Maki, Adie, TJ Monterde, and Cup of Joe.
0 Side Mafia, Hev Abi, G22, Alamat, KAIA, ZAE, Illest Morena, YGIG, AJAA, Over October, PLAYERTWO, and TUS Brothers are also in the list.
FELIP and Josh Cullen, both members of SB19, are also expected to have solo performances during the concert.
Complimentary tickets for the show were also released on Monday, September 9, as per Billboard Philippines’ poster.
Billboard Philippines is the second iteration of the brand in the country. Back in 2016, Penske and Algo-Rhythm Communications, Inc. joined forces to bring BBPH to life. However, its first outing lasted only for two years when the venture folded, alongside its official website.
In 2022, Billboard launched the ‘Philippines Songs’ chart as part of its ‘Hits of the World’ collection. A year later, in May 2023, AGC Power announced that it will be bringing back Billboard Philippines.
AGC, through Modern Media, also publishes the local editions of Vogue (under the name Vogue Philippines) and NYLON (known as NYLON Manila).
