After nine years, ABS-CBN’s noontime variety show ‘It’s Showtime’ brought back its iconic segment ‘Kalokalike’ for a “Face 4” season on Monday, September 2.

Competing in the segment’s maiden edition this season are the impressionists of Olympic double-gold medalist Carlos Yulo, his girlfriend Chloe San Jose, and ‘Black Rider’ lead star Ruru Madrid.

By the end of the first episode of the returning segment, the Carlos Yulo impersonator named Andre Santos bested his two fellow contestants to win in the daily round of ‘Kalokalike.’

Over at X (formerly known as Twitter), the segment immediately became the talk of the town on microblogging site and placed #1 in the top trending topics in the Philippines during the broadcast.

‘Kalokalike’ was originally launched back in 2013 as a competition for people that share uncanny resemblance or vibes with popular figures in the local or international showbusiness scenes.

It gained massive following during its first season, which was won by Christopher de Leon impersonator Jonathan Garcia.

The success of the segment prompted its return for the ‘Level Up’ season 2 the following year, and ‘Face 3’ in 2015.

Since then, clamor for the segment’s comeback, along with cult classic ‘Showtime’ portions ‘Miss Q&A’ and ‘Sine Mo ‘To,’ had been relatively high among loyal viewers of the program.
