The satellite TV provider will be switching the placements of some channels on its platform.
In an advisory, Cignal TV shared on Thursday, July 11, the new channel assignments for the high-definition feed of ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Channel and Aliw Broadcasting Corporation’s Aliw 23.
Effective July 16, Kapamilya Channel HD will move out of its channel 23 assignment and transfer to the channel 257 slot on Cignal TV.
According to a reply from the direct-to-home television provider, the relocation of the flagship ABS-CBN pay TV outlet is to “align the HD channels placement to the HD block.”
Despite the changes, the standard definition (SD) feed of the Kapamilya Channel will remain on Cignal’s channel 22.
Taking KapCha HD’s space will be Aliw Channel 23, which slides up from its previous spot at Cignal TV’s channel 24 to 23.
As for the channel 24 slot, it will be occupied by the upcoming Bilyonaryo News Channel, which will be launching on July 15.
Previously, Cignal TV had also reassigned free-to-air channel ALLTV from channel 35 to 16, in line with the digital terrestrial television (DTT) allocated by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) for the Villar Group-owned station.
