First child is one the way for the Kapamilya couple.
On Father’s Day Sunday, June 16, actress Ria Atayde took to Instagram to greet her husband, actor Zanjoe Marudo, his “first Father’s Day.”
“To the dad you already are and the dad I know you’ll be. Love you @onlyzanjoemarudo, so excited for this new chapter with you. Happy first Father’s Day,” she wrote in the caption of a photo of them together — where she also proudly showed her baby bump.
The post’s comments section was immediately filled with congratulatory messages from their friends and colleagues in the industry, including Ria’s brother Arjo Atayde, Nadine Lustre, Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, Jane Oineza, Coleen Garcia, Jason Abalos, among many others.
Zanjoe also dropped by the comments section to thank everyone for their well wishes.
Marudo and Atayde first met as co-stars in the teleserye ‘My Dear Heart’ in 2017, but only began dating in late 2022, as confirmed by the latter’s mother, Sylvia Sanchez.
Months later, in January 2023, Zanjoe publicly confirmed their relationship in an interview with Karen Davila.
In February this year, they surprised the public with a social media post announcing their engagement.
The following month, during Ria’s birthday on March 23, the couple tied the knot in an intimate civil wedding ceremony at the Quezon City Hall.
In attendance at the ceremony were the pair’s families and closest friends, including celebrities Ria’s mom Sylvia Sanchez, her sibilings Gela Atayde and Arjo Atayde, and sister-in-law Maine Mendoza, among others.
