Gelo Rivera, “P-pop’s Viral King” and leader of Filipino male pop group BGYO, has trended anew on social media.

This time, he is making rounds over his cover of the ‘Limb by Limb’ dance challenge on social networking platform TikTok.

Originally uploaded by fellow BGYO member JL Toreliza on his personal account last April 9 as a three-member cover featuring himself, Gelo, and Nate Porcalla, the leader’s solo cut was posted by a fan account on the same day.

As of press time, the clip has since been viewed more than 5.7 million times on the platform, and gained 720,000 likes on top of the over six thousand comments.

The virality of the original clip has prompted ‘kapitan’ to upload his solo cover on his own account, which has so far garnered more than 2 million views and over 274,000 likes within 3 days.

The whole group has since hopped in on the trend, with their five-member version accumulating nearly a million views in over one day.

Going viral online is no stranger to Rivera, who is also celebrating his 23rd birthday today.

In 2023, he became famously known as the ‘2×2 guy’ of P-pop when his photo made rounds on social media, with netizens praising his good looks that stand out even in a photo that he submitted as a required document.

That year, Gelo also gained attention anew during a ‘Showtime’ guesting in June — again for his effortless visual attack.

Gelo, along with the rest of BGYO, debuted in January 2021 with their single titled ‘The Light’.

Since then, the group went on to release songs like ‘When I’m With You,’ ‘The Baddest,’ ‘Tumitigil Ang Mundo,’ ‘Bulalakaw,’ among others.

Earlier this year, BGYO dropped their single ‘Patintero’.
