The TV host-actor was asked regarding the shake-up.
In a report by GMA Integrated News, Kapuso personality Paolo Contis was asked regarding the upcoming simulcast of ABS-CBN’s longest-running noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ on GMA-7 starting April 6.
According to Contis, he is happy that ‘Showtime’ has found another home in the Kapuso network’s main channel.
The said program has been airing a simulcast on the network’s secondary channel GTV since July 2023.
When asked if he is open to making a guest appearance on his once-rival show, Paolo said that “[w]ork is work and I’m very happy na meron silang lugar.”
He went on to share his ties with ‘It’s Showtime’ hosts like his former fellow ‘Bubble Gang’ mainstay Ogie Alcasid, Vhong Navarro, and Vice Ganda.
Contis, along with the likes of former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Buboy Villar, Betong Sumaya, among many others, hosted the defunct noontime show ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ which was produced by TAPE, Inc.
Originally meant to be a “continuation” of longest-running noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga,’ the program was forced to change its title in January 2024 following a court order from the Marikina Regional Trial Court.
On March 2, 2024, ‘Tahanan’ was abruptly canceled by its producers “despite best efforts to save the show.”
As a result, GMA Network and ABS-CBN entered into a new agreement on March 20 to simultaneously broadcast ‘It’s Showtime’ on GMA, GTV, GMA Pinoy TV, Kapuso Stream, as well as Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, iWantTFC, and TFC.
‘Showtime’ on GMA will begin on Saturday, April 6, at 11:30 am. It will then be aired from Monday to Saturday at 12:00 nn starting April 8.
