The local basketball superstar has given his side of the story.
On Thursday, Pilipinas Super League team Biñan Tatak Gel player Marc Pingris posted on Facebook his official response to the swirling rumors about him and actress Kim Rodriguez.
“Walang katotohanan ang mga lumalabas na balita tungkol sa amin ni Ms. Kim Rodriguez. Walang namamagitan sa amin gaya ng sinasabi ng ibang tao,” Pingris began his post.
The ‘Pinoy Sakuragi’ then explained that he met Kim in an event where she became the muse of Marc’s team.
“Nakasama ko po si Ms. Kim sa isang basketball event at sa isa pang event noong naging muse siya ng team namin.”
He then expressed his gratitude to those who reached out to him and his family, and asked rumor-mongers to stop spreading falsehoods.
“Salamat din sa nag pa abot ng concern. Ok kami ng pamilya ko. Wag na po tayo magpakalat ng mga balita na hindi totoo.”
To end, he asked for the public to respect their family, “Humihingi po kami ng respeto para hindi madamay ang mga anak namin ni Danica [Sotto-Pingris]. Salamat po at God bless po.”
Earlier this week, rumors of Marc Pingris’ alleged break-up with wife Danica Sotto-Pingris spread on social media.
Following that, photos of him and Kim Rodriguez, allegedly taken during the same event last August 2023, circulated on various forums.
Rodriguez, until now, has not released any statement regarding the issue.
Meanwhile, Marc’s wife Danica has gave her response to the news after commenting on a friend’s post on Facebook.
“Kalma, miga! We love you,” Sotto-Pingris said.
Marc and Danica tied the knot back in 2007 and together have three children.
