On Wednesday, March 13, music and entertainment publication Billboard Philippines announced that it will be giving Filipina pop group BINI its first Women In Music ‘Rising Stars’ award.

According to BBPH, they are giving the inaugural award to ‘The Nation’s P-Pop Girl Group’ due to their “recent string of hits like ‘Pantropiko,’ ‘Karera,’ and ‘Salamin, Salamin'” which have captivated listeners around the world.

In their official social media page, the group expressed their gratitude for the award.

“Beyond grateful to Billboard Philippines for honoring BINI as the first-ever #BBPHWomenInMusic Rising Star!”

“It’s truly a privilege to receive this recognition and to represent the power of women in the industry,” they added.

“This only fuels us to strive harder, break more barriers, and inspire generations to come! Sabay-sabay tayong tumingin sa salamin at sabihing, “WE’RE ALL BORN TO WIN!” Thank you po,” the pop group ended their statement.

BINI will receive the award on March 22, 2024 during the first Billboard Philippines Women in Music event, which is in conjunction with the celebration of the Women’s Month this March.

Speaking of which, BINI also decided to mark the occasion by releasing their first extended play ‘Talaarawan’ during the International Women’s Day last March 8.

The 8-member team, composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena, released the EP that features six songs.

The track list include their previous singles ‘Karera’ and ‘Pantropiko,’ plus four new songs: ‘Salamin, Salamin,’ ‘Ang Huling Cha Cha,’ ‘Diyan Ka Lang,’ and ‘Na Na Nandito Lang.’

Since its release last Friday, the music video for the lead single ‘Salamin, Salamin’ has been viewed more than 400,000 times on YouTube.
