Taylor Swift’s Filipino impersonator has made it to Australian television.
On Saturday, Australian morning show ‘Today’ featured Filipino drag artist Mac Coronel, popularly known as the persona Taylor Sheesh.
This, as Sheesh brought ‘The Errors’ tour to Melbourne’s Federation Square, while Taylor Swift held her own ‘The Eras’ concert at the Melbourne Cricket Square.
During the interview, the impersonator was asked about how they feel regarding the global attention they garnered.
Sheesh said that they “didn’t expect that we will go viral after our recreation of ‘The Eras’ tour,” and thanked fellow Swifties for the support.
The drag artist also told the program that their team has yet to receive any message from Swift’s team, hence they still do not know what Taylor herself thinks about their “alternative” tour.
“But we’re hoping she likes what we’re doing,” Sheesh added.
The Pinoy ‘TS’ also shared their favorite songs to perform, which are Taylor Swift’s ‘Love Story’ and ‘You Belong With Me,’ which Taylor Sheesh described as “forever gold.”
Once ‘The Eras’ tour comes to an end, Sheesh plans to continue celebrating Swift’s music and support her in her endeavors, such as her upcoming album ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’
The impersonator also aims to make free mall tours and events for their fellow Swifties.
To end, Taylor Sheesh thanked Taylor Swift for “changing my life.”
Sheesh held a two-hour show on Friday evening at Melbourne’s Federation Square and performed Swift’s greatest hits in front of a massive crowd.
Speaking of crowd, Taylor Swift herself made a tour record, when 96,000 people attended her Melbourne ‘The Eras’ concert on Friday, February 16. It broke the previous 74,000 spectators in New Jersey, USA.
Although Swift is not going to visit the Philippines for the tour, Swift will still visit Southeast Asia as she is scheduled to hold six nights in Singapore this March.
