Today, January 26th, family, friends, and fans of late ASTRO member Moonbin are celebrating his life on his 26th birth anniversary.
Foremost, his close friends in the entertainment industry have dedicated their messages for the late Korean pop star.
ASTRO members MJ and Jinjin posted on the group’s official X platform at the stroke of midnight (Korean time) and shared some of their snaps with Moonbin.
Jinjin, along with another ASTRO member Sanha, also shared their photos with Moonbin on Instagram.
Sanha then released his cover of Jaurim’s ’21, 25,’ which he retitled as ’26, 24,’ indicating Moonbin and his age this year.
Cha Eunwoo paid tribute by uploading a cover of SLANDER’s song ‘Love is Gone’ on his YouTube channel.
At the end of the video, clips of Moonbin happily doing a fire dance was also included.
SEVENTEEN member Woozi also released ‘What Kind of Future,’ which he promised to do so on Moonbin’s birthday today.
Woozi’s bandmate Seungkwan also made a cover of Choi Yu-ree’s song ‘Shape,’ which he released on his birthday last week.
The video for the cover featured some clips of Seungkwan with his close friend Moonbin.
In the Philippines, Moonbin’s name, as well as his official birthday hashtag became the top two trending topics locally on X (formerly Twitter).
Moonbin began his career in the entertainment industry in his childhood when he made appearances in TVXQ’s music video ‘Balloons’ in 2006 and hit Korean drama series ‘Boys Over Flowers’.
He then made his debut as a K-pop idol in 2016 with ASTRO, where he also became a member of the group’s sub-unit Moonbin&Sanha with Yoon Sanha when that was launched in September 2020.
In 2023, the duo embarked on a tour titled ‘Diffusion,’ which was also held in Manila on the 24th of March that year.
However, a month later on April 19, 2023, Moonbin passed away at the age of 25.
