‘BarDa’ went head-on in the Kapuso game show.
On Monday, January 8, GMA Network’s afternoon game show ‘Family Feud’ returned with its first fresh episode this 2024 and after a few weeks of repeats amid the holiday rush.
For its ‘bueno mano’ episode for the year, actors Barbie Forteza and David Licauco went against each other in a bid to win the jackpot prize.
Barbie’s team is composed of her father, make-up artist, and stylist.
As for David, his team is composed of fellow actor Dustin Yu, model Kurt Ong, and another one of his close friends Biggie.
Round 1 ended with David’s team in the lead, while in round 2, the odds were in favor of Barbie.
Round 3 was where the amusing part happened, at least for David.
This, as they were asked to give examples of second names after Maria.
After ‘Clara’ was revealed to be the top answer, Licauco’s team took the chance to guess the remaining four.
Once it was his turn to answer, David shyly answered ‘Ozawa,’ referring to Japanese adult video actress Maria Ozawa.
His answer garnered laughter from his teammates, as well as audience members.
Anyhow, Barbie’s team cemented their lead after snatching the chance in round 3 and correctly guessing ‘Makiling’.
But, the big rebound came in round 4, as David’s team swept the board and garnered a total of 378 points after four rounds, as opposed to Barbie’s 205 points.
Fast forward to the end of the ‘Fast Money’ jackpot round, David and his friend Biggie accumulated a total of 218 points, enabling them to win the jackpot prize of Php 200,000 and a separate Php 20,000 for his charity.
Barbie and David’s love team was formed following the breakthrough success of ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra,’ where they starred as Klay (Barbie Forteza) and Fidel (David Licauco).
It later led fans of the series to develop the ship called ‘FiLay,’ which later became ‘BarDa’.
They then starred together in the primetime action series remake of the 1991 film ‘Maging Sino Ka Man,’ which aired from September to November 2023.
Barbie Forteza and David Licauco will return to the small screen soon via the upcoming historical period drama ‘Pulang Araw,’ which will tackle the Japanese occupation of the Philippines during World War II.
Apart from ‘BarDa,’ Alden Richards and Sanya Lopez will be joining them in the series.
‘Pulang Araw’ will air on GMA Prime later this year.
