After months of speculations.
On Saturday, December 23, Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu broke her silence and disclosed the status of her relationship with Kapuso actor Xian Lim.
Off the bat, Kim said that they are no longer a couple, saying that it is the “[e]nd of a love story.”
On why she decided to publicly share this only now, Kim said that they “owe… supporters the truth, but… also respect each other’s time of healing,” pertatining to Xian.
“In a relationship, love is always a significant factor, but sometimes love is not enough,” Kim added.
She also said that the break-up was a “mutual decision to transition our [Kim and Xian] relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship.”
The ‘It’s Showtime’ host and ‘Linlang’ star also thanked their followers “for their love and support.”
She then asked for appreciation for their honesty and “the privacy we need as we begin new chapters in our lives.”
Finally, Chiu also expressed her gratitude to Lim, which she endearingly calls as “Xi.”
“Thank you for the almost 12 years of beautiful memories together one can never imagine. You will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for showing what love is,” Kim said to Xian.
The news regarding the uncertainty of their relationship first went public in November, but both parties have remained mum on the issue.
Kim and Xian began dating in 2012, but have worked together on multiple television and movie projects since 2011.
These include “My Binondo Girl,” “Ina, Kapatid, Anak,” “Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo,” “Bride For Rent,” “Love Thy Woman,” and the most recent being the 2022 film “Always” on Prime Video.
