The boys of BGYO gained praises for their recent performance.
On Sunday, P-pop boy group BGYO appeared on ABS-CBN’s noontime musical variety show ‘ASAP Natin ‘To’. In that episode, the five-member group performed ‘Do It Like That,’ which is the collaboration of the Jonas Brothers and Korean male pop group Tomorrow X Together (TXT).
After the broadcast, a clip of the said cover was uploaded on X (formerly Twitter). To date, two of the most-engaged posts have garnered more than 500,000 views combined.
Reactions are mostly positive, with MOAs, the fandom of TXT, also praising the Filipino group for their ‘Do It Like That’ cover.
“This is actually very slay,” one TXT fan said.
Members Akira and JL were also praised for their vocals.
Some were also surprised to learn that ‘Do It Like That’ made it to Philippine television.
One also requested the group to cover a song by TXT’s labelmate and seniors, BTS.
The group’s official account has also shared how the group prepared for their ‘ASAP’ performance.
Speaking of Tomorrow X Together, the Korean group recently came back with their newest studio album titled ‘The Name Chapter: Freefall,’ which was released last October 13.
BGYO, meanwhile, was named one of “10 Asian Artists To Check Out” by the GRAMMYs official website last May.
Recently, they also introduced their first sub-unit featuring members Akira and JL, which debuted via the song ‘Be Mine’. The two are also part of the upcoming staging of ‘Tabing Ilog: The Musical,’ where they will alternate for the role of Rovic, originally portrayed by John Lloyd Cruz in the 1999 TV series. Coincidentally, JL’s real name is also John Lloyd. The more you know.
