During the press conference for the upcoming Manila Pop Convention 2023 or ManiPopCon, organizers formally announced that a Japanese actor is set to headline the event.
He is none other than Mackenyu Arata, who recently starred as Roronoa Zoro in the live action adaptation of ‘One Piece’.
Mackenyu, in a short video message, shared his excitement to appear as guest in the said convention. “To all my Filipino fans out there, I’m happy to share that I’ll be appearing at ManiPopCon in Manila.”
The pop convention will take place at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City from November 17 to 19, 2023.
Aside from ‘One Piece,’ Mackenyu is also known for his other works, which includes his portrayal of Scar in the live-action adaptation of ‘Full Metal Alchemist,’ Yukishiro Enishi in the final installment of ‘Rurouni Kenshin,’ Naozumi Hiyama in ‘Overdrive,’ and the 2016 TV adaptation ‘Sakurasaku’.
Meanwhile, it was also just this year when it was announced that he has married his non-showbiz girlfriend.
