The singer recently got involved in an accident.
In a statement on Tuesday, SM Entertainment said that NCT member Taeil got into an accident while riding his motorcycle. The agency adds that Taeil sustained injuries such as “a fracture in his right thigh.”
With that, he will be taking a hiatus from all his activities, as well as not participate in the upcoming full-group concert of NCT on August 26.
SM had also sent their apologies to the fans for the sudden news, but assured them that they will prioritize Taeil’s safety and recovery.
Meanwhile, in a Weibo live video, Taeil’s fellow NCT member Chenle explained what occurred. Chenle said that he was with Taeil on the day of the incident, as they both went to the salon.
He adds that he was one of the first few people who have learned about what happened, as he learned it from Mark — Taeil’s co-member in NCT 127.
Chenle clarified that Taeil was not the cause of the accident, but rather a victim of an erring motorist who beat the red light. He adds that Taeil fell unconscious for a time, but regained his consciousness afterwards.
The fellow member was also quick to assure the fans that Taeil is now on his way to recovery.
NCT is a twenty-member Korean pop group that debuted in 2016 under SM Entertainment. Taeil is part of the group’s ‘NCT 127’ unit, as well as the other collaborative projects under the ‘NCT U’ brand. Chenle, meanwhile, is part of the ‘NCT Dream’ sub-unit.
