The new spiels were first used last night, August 8.
During the August 8th edition of GMA’s flagship primetime newscast ’24 Oras,’ it made a notable change to its outro spiels.
The new lines are as follows.
Mel Tiangco: At iyan ang mga balita ngayong araw ng [day of the week].
For comparison, here is how the closing spiels were prior to the change.
Mel Tiangco: At iyan ang mga balita ngayong araw ng [day of the week].
Vicky Morales: Walang kasinungalingan, serbisyong totoo lamang.
Emil Sumangil: At dahil hindi natutulog ang balita…
Mel Tiangco: Nakatutok kami, 24 oras.
The clip featuring the revamped closing spiels was uploaded to X (formerly Twitter) by user @albertlirio. It has since garnered more than 600 thousand views on the platform.
Comments were mixed, with sentiments mostly surprised by the changes. Some were also saddened, as the new lines also symbolize a new era, with the former and iconic lines making way for it.
Some users have also shared their cents on the change, as well as the rebranding of the entire GMA Integrated News group.
The alteration of the closing spiels reflects the new mission statement of GMA Integrated News, which was unveiled on Monday, August 7. The news organization’s tagline has become “Para sa mas malaking misyon. Mas pinalawak na paglilingkod.”
It replaces the decades-old “Serbisyong Totoo” tag line, which used to encompassed both GMA News and GMA Public Affairs. But the two divisions have since been split, with Public Affairs also producing entertainment shows and movies outside of its core documentary and lifestyle programs.
Meanwhile, Integrated News has combined the resources and personnel of the Manila news bureau, Regional TV, GMA News Online, and the Super Radyo network.
Aside from ’24 Oras,’ other GMA Integrated News bulletins like ‘Saksi,’ ‘Balitanghali,’ and ‘State of the Nation’ have also updated their respective spiels in line with the one similar to the flagship primetime newscast.
