Pauline Amelinckx finsihes first runner-up in Miss Supranational 2023
Miss Supranational Philippines 2023 Pauline Amelinckx finished 1st runner-up in the recently concluded Miss Supranational 2023 pageant in Poland. Amelinckx, who was awarded the title just last May, competed against 64 other candiates from other countries. In the end, she and Miss Ecuador — Andrea Aguilera were left on the stage. Ultimately, Aguilera took home the crown.
Nevertheless, Amelinckx delivered the strongest performance of the country in the said pageant in 10 years. It was in the year 2013 when Mutya Datul won the Miss Supranational crown and since then, Filipina candidates have consistently entered the Top 24 or 25 in the competition.

Actor-director Ricky Rivero passes away at 51
On Sunday morning, the partner of Ricky Rivero confirmed on social media the passing of the actor-director. He also thanked friends and colleagues who had helped Rivero during his difficult times and his eventual passing.
According to PEP’s interview with Rivero’s uncle actor Philip Salvador, Ricky suffered a stroke in May. It also happened 8 years after he had a heart attack in 2015.
Rivero’s wake will be held at the Loyola Memorial Chapel in Quezon City.
Rivero was known to be part of ‘That’s Entertainment’ in the late ’80s, before becoming a character actor and director. Some of his memorable projects are ‘Praybeyt Bejamin,’ ‘Moron 5,’ where he also worked as the assistant director of Wenn Deramas. He also was part of the directing teams of teleseryes, primarily in ABS-CBN.

Julie Anne San Jose to visit ‘It’s Showtime’ on Monday
Kapuso star Julie Anne San Jose, also known as ‘Asia’s Limitless Star,’ is set to appear on ABS-CBN’s lunchtime variety show ‘It’s Showtime’ tomorrow, July 17. San Jose is set to have a production number with the Showtime Baby Dolls. Her appearance is also part of the promotional activities for her upcoming GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs movie ‘The Cheating Game,’ which hits theaters on July 26.
Julie Anne now joins the list of Kapuso artists who have appeared in the show since it began airing on GMA Network’s GTV channel last July 1. During the pilot episode of ‘Showtime’ on the Kapuso channel, her fellow ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’ star Barbie Forteza, Pokwang, Sparkle actress Sanya Lopez, Rayver and Rodjun Cruz, singers Mark Bautista, and Christian Bautista served as the initial Kapuso guests during the GTV era of the program.

THE BOYZ holds first solo concert in Manila
Korean boy group THE BOYZ was recently in Manila for their first solo concert in the Philippines. Held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, the concert is part of their ‘Zeneration’ world tour concert series.
The 11-member group THE BOYZ last performed Manila in April for a joint concert with aespa and Girls’ Generation member Taeyeon in Quezon City. Their last solo engagement in the country prior to ‘Zeneration’ was for their fanmeeting back in 2019.
THE BOYZ is known for their songs ‘D.D.D.’, ‘Bloom Bloom,’ ‘Maverick,’ ‘The Stealer,’ ‘Whisper,’ and ‘Thrill Ride’. Their EP ‘Be Awake,’ which contains the song ‘Roar,’ was released in February this year.
Andrea Brillantes gives advice on how to move on
Kapamilya actress Andrea Brillantes recently appeared on Vice Ganda’s YouTube vlog. The two personalities went on to discuss the Brillantes’ current life problems, such as her recent break-up. During the discussion, Brillantes dispensed tips on how to move on from a previous relationship. Aside from that, she also shared her own journey towards self-discovery during the healing process.
