Marcos sees “no problem” with ‘Barbie’ film

The President has weighed in on the conttoversy surrounding the film ‘Barbie’.

Philippine President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos has weighed in his thoughts on the controversy surrounding the film ‘Barbie’.

According to Marcos, he sees no problem with the movie, in spite of the allegations that the film has a scene where visible lines drawn on the map of Asia are related to the nine-dash line of China.

Marcos adds that ‘Barbie’ is a work of fiction, so are the boundary lines that were seen.

Earlier this week, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) gave its approval to allow ‘Barbie’ to be screened in theaters around the country.

In Vietnam, though, the movie has been banned after local regulators there deemed the controversial scene “offending image of the nine-dash line.”
