Three years after the shutdown of DZMM Radyo Patrol 630.
On Monday, June 26, 630 kHz on the AM radio band is back after a long hibernation. Based on its stingers, the station is branded DWPM Sais Trenta (630), with the slogan “Para Sa Mamamayan.” Currently, the radio station is still on test broadcast and only plays automated music for the meantime.
Currently, the owners of the new DWPM 630 have yet to identify themselves through an official station notice. The official launch date of DWPM 630 is also kept under wraps at the moment.
DWPM comes into the picture three years after the end of DZMM Radyo Patrol Sais Trenta of ABS-CBN Corporation on May 5, 2020. DZMM had been the occupant of the prime 630 kHz frequency for nearly 34 years. During that station’s peak, it was the top AM radio station in terms of listenership in Mega Manila.
But there are fervent rumors that the airwaves of 630 will be filled with familiar voices from the former DZMM. This, as ABS-CBN closes down TeleRadyo on Friday, June 30, per the company’s announcement last month. ABS, will however, enter into a joint venture with Prime Media Holdings, Inc. to produce news content on radio.

‘TV Patrol’ anchor Karen Davila also said in a tweet in May that in spite of TeleRadyo’s planned closure, DZMM will rise up from the dead and will be heard anew on AM radio. As of now, it remains unknown whether the new JV will indeed take over DWPM’s airtime.
Speaking of TeleRadyo, it had already been teased that the station might not completely fold this week. According to ABS-CBN News reporter Jekki Pascual on Saturday, viewers should “watch out for the new version of the channel.” The management of ABS-CBN or the JV have yet to make a statement on the future of TeleRadyo.
