‘It’s Showtime’ to air on GTV starting this July

“G na G!”

In an official announcement on Tuesday, GMA Network, its subsidiary channel GTV, and ABS-CBN Entertainment, formally announced the move of ‘It’s Showtime’ to GTV channel 27 next month. According to both Kapuso and Kapamilya networks, the long-running noontime show will be aired simultaneously on GTV starting July 1, 2023 at 12 noon.

In line with this, ABS-CBN has also announced the termination of the TV5 broadcast of ‘Showtime’ on Friday, June 30, 2023. ABS-CBN cited the “movements” in TV5’s programming after Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, and the rest of their gang, transferred to channel 5 and Mediaquest earlier this month. TVJ’s noontime show is expected to take over the 12 noon slot of TV5 on July 1.

According to ABS-CBN, the discontinuation of ‘It’s Showtime’ on TV5 comes after they declined TV5’s offer to move the program to a delayed telecast on the channl at 4:30 pm. ABS also cited the relationship that the program has built with its audience on noontime.

Despite the end of ‘Showtime’ on TV5, other ABS-CBN shows will continue to be seen on the channel. These are the likes of primetime dramas ‘Batang Quiapo,’ Sunday noontime show ‘ASAP Natin ‘To,’ and weekend programs ‘Everybody, Sing’ with Vice Ganda, and ‘Rated Korina.’

Here is ABS-CBN’s full statement on the matter.

ABS-CBN would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to TV5 Chairman Manny Pangilinan for his support for ABS-CBN and for bringing “It’s Showtime” to a wider audience through our content partnership.

With new programming movements at TV5, we are sad to announce that “It’s Showtime” will no longer be seen on TV5 starting July 1, 2023.

For 14 years, “It’s Showtime” has brought joy and entertainment to our Madlang People here and abroad. We value the meaningful relationship we have built and nurtured with our audience in the noontime slot. It is for this reason that we have respectfully declined the 4:30 pm timeslot offered by TV5 for ths show.

We assure the viewers of “It’s Showtime” that they can continue to watch their favorite noontime show on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon.

We are also very grateful to GMA’s GTV channel and happy to announce that “It’s Showtime” has found another home.

Starting July 1, 2023, “It’s Showtime” will also be aired on GTV from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon. G na G na tayo, Madlang People!

We are thankful for the loyal support our audiences have provided for “It’s Showtime” and hope they continue to find joy and entertainment on the show as it seeks to find more ways to reach them.

Statement on “It’s Showtime” (June 20, 2023)

The simulcast of ‘Showtime’ on GTV is the latest development in the closer ties between Ignacia and Kamuning. In 2022, ABS-CBN Films inked a deal with GMA to air Star Cinema movies on Kapuso channels. Earlier this year, in January, GMA Network, ABS-CBN Entertainment, and Viu joined forces for ‘Unbreak My Heart,’ their first-ever co-production.
