Google and PLDT trend on social media as users flock the space with their grievances.
On Monday, June 5, ‘Google’ and ‘PLDT’ became top trending topics in the Philippines. This, as users took to social media to share that they’re experiencing trouble accessing the services of the two companies.
On the Google side, services including Google Suite, Gmail, YouTube, among others, became difficult to access past 3:40 in the afternoon. As of press time, Google services remain hard to access. Google has also yet to issue a statement on the matter.
Meanwhile, subscribers of local telecom giant PLDT have also shared that they are also experiencing connectivity issues on Monday afternoon. This prompted PLDT to release a statement.
According to the telecom company, a submarine cable issue caused the loss in internet bandwidth capacity, resulting in the slower internet speed for its customers. They added that they are already working to provide an alternate capacity. The restoration of the internet browsing experience will happen in the “next few hours,” PLDT assured.
