Typhoon Betty update, as of May 28, 2023 at 11:00 pm.
Typhoon Betty slightly weakened as it approached the landmass of the Philippines. According to PAGASA’s latest report, it has sustained winds of 155 kph, and gusts of 190 kph.
The center of typhoon Betty was spotted at a distance of 570 km, East of Tuguegarao, Cagayan. Betty’s movement speed also slowed down, which is now only 10 kph, while the Typhoon continues to move Westward.

New ‘Binibini’ queens named
The 2023 Binibining Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night was held on Sunday evening at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. This year’s pageantry were hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, Miss Grand International 2016 1st Runner-up Nicole Cordoves, and Miss Universe 2014 Top 10 finisher MJ Lastimosa. Special performances by Darren Espanto, Vice Ganda, and ALAMAT also added fare to the coronation night.
By the end of the evening’s competition, the new queens emerged. Atasha Reign Parani of Cavite, an alum of ‘Pinoy Big Brother,’ was named 2nd runner-up. Davao’s Katrina Anne Johnson is 1st runner-up.
Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2023 is Anna Valencia Lakrini, who represented the province of Bataan.
The other is Binibining Pilipinas International 2023 Angelica Lopez of Palawan. She will represent the country in the Miss International 2024 pageant. Binibining Pilipinas International 2022 Nicole Borromeo will be the one to compete in the upcoming Miss International 2023 pageant in Tokyo, Japan, which will be held this October.
Fans were left disappointed by the non-airing of ALAMAT’s performances during Bb. Pilipinas 2023 Coronation Night
‘Magiliws,’ the official fandom name for ALAMAT’s fans, flocked to social media late Sunday evening to express their disappointment over the non-airing of the group’s performances during the Bb. Pilipinas 2023 Coronation Night.
Video recordings straight from the event showed that the group was able to perform 5 stages during the evening, but none of which was shown during the telecast that began at 9:30 pm and ended shortly before midnight.
The Binibining Pilipinas organization, the event organizer, and ALAMAT’s management have all yet to make their respective comments on the matter.
Kapamilya stars appear in Kapuso programs for ‘Unbreak My Heart’
Kapamilya stars, led by Jodi Sta. Maria and Joshua Garcia, made guestings in Kapuso programs this week. These appearances were part of the promotions for the ABS-CBN and GMA co-production series ‘Unbreak My Heart.’
Joshua first appeared in the Thursday episode of ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. He then became one of the “choices” in the Saturday edition of the ‘Bawal Judgmental’ segment of the noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga.’ In that episode, he was joined by co-Kapamilya star Bianca de Vera, along with Kapuso actors Richard Yap and Gabbi Garcia.
In the May 28 episode of ‘All Out-Sundays,’ Joshua Garcia appeared anew, this time with Asian Academy Creative Awards 2022 Best Actress Jodi Sta. Maria and Gabbi Garcia.
Finally, for the Monday (May 29) episode of GMA’s ‘Family Feud,’ it will be the ‘Unbreak My Heart’ actors’ turn to guess the answers on the survey. Joshua Garcia will also appear as a contestant, along with fellow Kapamilyas Nikki Valdez, Jeremiah Lisbo, Bianca de Vera, and Kapuso actor Will Ashley.
‘Unbreak My Heart’ had already premiered in advance on online platforms Viu, iWantTFC, and GMA Network website on Saturday, May 27. While the TV premiere is set to take place on Monday, May 29, at 9:35 pm on GMA, Pinoy Hits, and i Heart Movies; while GTV carries the show on a delayed telecast at 11:25 pm.
