On Friday, Fantagio reiterated its earlier statement on ASTRO’s Moonbin’s funeral procession. Apart from that, the agency also added that Moonbin’s burial site will not be disclosed to the public and will only be known to the family, relatives, and close friends.
Fantagio’s statement read as follows:
We won’t be disclosing Moonbin’s funeral procession and burial site according to the request of his family. We ask for your generous understanding, so the ASTRO members and bereaved family can spend their last moments with him.
The company also reminded reporters and photographers to also respect the family’s privacy and to not take photos of the funeral procession and burial.
In the Philippines, AROHAs have been flocking to the memorial site set up at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City since Thursday evening. Due to the high number of candles being lit up, the management decided to only limit the dedications to letters and flowers on Friday. They had also extended the memorial site’s hours to 7:00 am on Saturday, from the originally announced 12:00 mn end.
Upon the end of the memorial site, according to fanbase groups, the food collected from it will be donated to “a selected community.” Meanwhile, for the flowers, 1 petal from each of those will be preserved for safeguarding. As for the letters, in accordance to the belief in Korean culture, these will be collected and burnt with a prayer offering for Moonbin.
ASTRO’s Moonbin passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the age of 25. May his soul rest in peace.
