Their channel has been unusually inactive for nearly a week now.
Since Monday, April 10, live streaming of TV5 newscasts like ‘Frontline Pilipinas’, ‘News5 Alerts’, as well as the uploading of clips from radio program ‘Ted Failon at DJ Chacha sa Radyo5’ were unavailable to YouTube subscribers of the News5Everywhere channel.
Normally, these would be available to viewers during or hours after the broadcast of the shows. However, that hasn’t been the case this week.
A simple look at the News5 YouTube channel, one would be able to see that their latest upload was still on Monday, April 10, 2023. The said video is the catch-up of that day’s edition of ‘Frontline sa Umaga’.
But the full episode, as well as the highlight clips of the flagship primetime newscast ‘Frontline Pilipinas’ and the late-night ‘Frontline Tonight’ were not uploaded, nor were they streamed live on the channel.
The following day, April 11, 2023, there were no new uploads of clips and episodes for all News5 programs. The same also happened on the 12th and yesterday. As of today, there are still no new uploads on the said YouTube channel.
Meanwhile, it is business as usual for the YouTube accounts of sister channels One News and One PH of Cignal TV.
For now though, News5’s programs and episode highlights are available to view on their Facebook page, TikTok account, among their other accounts on various platforms.
News5 has yet to issue a comment on the matter.
UPDATE:
News5 has begun uploading new videos on its YouTube channel on April 17, 2023, with Frontline Pilipinas’ live stream on the platform resuming as well.
