The race for the local Miss Universe crown is on.
On Saturday, the Miss Universe Philippines Organization unveiled the 40 candidates that will compete in the pageant that will take place later this year. This, as the pageant ended its application period on Friday, February 17.

Other details for the competition, such as the venue, broadcaster, among others, are yet to be released.
Meanwhile, as it was announced during the 71st edition of the Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans last January, the 72nd ‘Miss U’ will take place in El Salvador at the end of this year.
