Today, the Cheerdance Competition of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 85 was held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
8 of the member schools competed, with each having their respective themes. Ateneo’s was ‘Ateneo Forever’, FEU’s was ‘Francis M.’, DLSU had ‘Janet Jackson’, UE with ‘Philippine Pop’, Adamson went with ‘reinvention’, UST’s ‘Monster’ was also seen, with NU opting for an ’80s-inspired theme, as UP’s ‘question mark’-themed performance closed the show.
In the competition, the National University Pep Squad overwhelmingly took home most of the special awards in this evening’s competition, along with the coveted championship trophy. The special awards were as follows: Most Stylish Team, Best Pyramid, and Best Dance.
From España, the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe members were named the 2nd runners-up of this edition.
Last season’s champions, the FEU Cheering Squad, placed 1st runner-up in this edition.
