After months of speculations, the news has been confirmed today.
On September 16, 2021, actress Lovi Poe formally signed a contract with ABS-CBN. For 15 years, Poe was a talent of ABS’s rival GMA Network, where she was able to do numerous series like Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real, Mulawin vs. Ravena, Someone to Watch Over Me, Legacy, Bakekang, and her most recent being Owe My Love.
Prior to her contract signing event today, Lovi penned a heartfelt letter to her former home network via her official social media accounts. She expressed gratitude to her former bosses and workmates in GMA Network, which she calls as her “root” that “planted her dreams.”
Poe’s move to ABS-CBN today is a confirmation of a months-long speculation. Sources say then that during her last project with GMA, Poe was no longer an exclusive talent of the network and she was seen talking to executives from the Kapamilya side. In July, through an interview with PEP, she refused to answer whether she would then transfer or remain with GMA.
The rumors went on until the teasers for a ‘jewel’ who has ‘found a new home’ were uploaded by Dreamscape, a production arm of ABS-CBN Entertainment. The teasers alone convinced many that it is a confirmation of Lovi Poe’s move to the Kapamilya network.
Meanwhile, another Kapamilya star has returned to his home. It’s no other than Piolo Pascual, who was last seen on TV5 via the now-defunct program Sunday Noontime Live.
A Kapamilya for more than 25 years, Pascual is mostly associated with programs like ASAP Natin ‘To, Lobo, Walang Kapalit, and Star Cinema movies like Starting Over Again, Milan, among others.
Right after sealing their respective contracts, Poe and Pascual was formally unveiled by Dreamscape head Deo Endrinal as the lead actors for the upcoming adaptation of the 2020 Korean suspense series Flower of Evil. Originally starring Lee Joong-gi and Moon Chae-won, Flower of Evil tells the tale of a couple, whose relationship was marred with the discovery of secrets and crimes.
Complete casting and the commencement of filming for the Flower of Evil’s Philippine adaptation will be announced in due course.
Pascual, however, will have one more show. This time, with another longtime Kapamilya actress, Angelica Panganiban. Details about the Panganiban-Pascual series are still kept under wraps as of writing.

[…] Apart from that, this series also makes Viu’s presence in the country much bigger. Also last year, the OTT (over-the-top) platform also joined forces with ABS-CBN and Dreamscape to deliver the local adaptation of BBC’s ‘Doctor Foster’, ‘The Broken Marriage Vow‘, which also starred Jodi Sta. Maria. Later on, that furthered with the Philippine adaptation of hit South Korean TV series ‘Flower of Evil‘, still under the same unit, and topbilled by Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe. […]
