Pinoy Doctor Foster title, director, cast officially revealed

Doctor Foster is getting a local feel, thanks to this upcoming remake.

On May 7, ABS-CBN officially revealed important details about the local adaptation of Doctor Foster. First up, the title of the program. Around the world, the series title has been varying in each territory, with the most notable being The World of the Married in South Korea. For the Philippine version, Dr. Foster would become “The Broken Marriage Vow.”

Secondly, the series’ director was also unveiled today, with Connie Macatuno being assigned in the position. Some of Macatuno’s bodies of work include iWantTFC originals Malaya and Glorious.

For third and final part, the most-awaited segment of the program, the announcement of the final casting of leads for the show.

Playing the role of Tom Foster (UK version) and Lee Joon Young (Korean version) will be Zaijian Jaranilla, whose character will be named Gio Ilustre. Gio is the only son who will be put in an awkward situation amidst the “war” of his parents.

Next up, the actress who will play the character of Kate Parks (UK version) and Yeo Da Kyeong (Korean version). For the PH adaptation, Sue Ramirez will play as the mistress Lexy Lucero. Apart from being the third party in the relationship of Gio’s parents, she is also the heiress of a rich and successful family in town.

The piece for the cheating husband Simon Foster (UK version) and Lee Tae Oh (Korean version) was given to Zanjoe Marudo, The Broken Marriage Vow’s David Ilustre. The ambitious husband who falls in love with Lexy Lucero despite being married to Gio’s mother.

Finally, the Pinay Doctor Foster. Originally known as Doctor Gemma Foster in the UK and Doctor Ji Sun Woo for the South Korean remake, she is the loving wife and mother whose world is shaken by the infidelity of her husband. In the Philippines, she will be named as Dr. Jill Ilustre and will be played by Jodi Sta. Maria.

The complete casting for the series is yet to be revealed some time in the future.

The Broken Marriage Vow” will be produced by ABS-CBN Entertainment and Dreamscape Entertainment, with BBC Studios. The series is set to be filmed and aired before the end of 2021.
