SB19 is making history in the global scene!
On April 28, 2021, the Billboard Music Awards officially announced the list of nominees for this year’s awards. For the first time ever, a Filipino and Southeast Asian act was nominated in the award-giving body when boy group SB19 was shortlisted for the Top Social Artist award.
Their rivals in the category are Ariana Grande, Korean groups BTS, BLACKPINK, and SEVENTEEN.
The group’s official account has also acknowledged the nomination.
Prior to the BBMA nod, SB19 was also featured on the Billboard website after consistently placing on the publication’s Social 50 chart. Last year, tthe group also placed sixth on Billboard’s top social artists of 2020.
The 2021 edition of the Billboard Music Awards will be held on the evening of May 23, 2021 (morning of the 24th in the Philippines).
