Philippine networks have decided to either temporarily return to a work-from-home setup or air reruns in lieu of fresh or live episodes.
Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, several production houses have postponed or cancelled tapings altogether.
Leading the pack is ABS-CBN, whom have began airing repeats of It’s Showtime and Magandang Buhay as of March 19. The action of the management was later relayed by Vice Ganda through his livestreaming that evening. According to him, the Kapamilya network has decided to suspend live production of the show to “help the country from [the threat of] the surge.”

Filming of dramas and other narrative formats are still believed to be ongoing as of the moment, considering those shows are under a locked-in setup.
Eagle Broadcasting Corporation, for their part, has also decided to stop the filming of three shows, namely Happy Time, Eat’s Singing Time, and Kesayasaya. The three Net 25 programs will be airing replays of past episodes for the meantime, as the in-studio production of the mentioned shows remain suspended until March 27.
State TV network PTV has also announced a few days back that most of their shows will be ceasing their respective broadcasts in the interim. The station itself also shut briefly between March 17 and 18 to give way for the disinfection of their Visayas Avenue facilities. Flagship shows Laging Handa and Ulat Bayan are set to return on Monday, with the rest of the lineup still on hold until further notice.

Other TV networks and production outfits are yet to announce whether they would still continue production amidst the growing concerns over the recent spike in COVID-19 cases.
