Now beyond Sunday afternoons.
On March 5, 2021, columnist and Kapatid broadcaster Cristy Fermin broke the news that TV5 will serve as a home of ABS-CBN’s primetime shows. On her radio program Cristy FerMinute, Fermin confirmed that FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, Walang Hanggang Paalam, and Pinoy Big Brother Connect will be airing on channel 5 starting Monday, March 8. The four shows will occupy the 8 to 10:30pm block of the Kapatid network.
Later in the evening, ABS-CBN and TV5 issued a joint statement confirming the news.
This event marks another milestone for ABS-CBN Entertainment and TV5 as both parties already have an existing partnership every Sunday via the broadcast of ASAP Natin ‘To and FPJ: Da King on 5. The deal, which began last January, was in collaboration with Brightlight Productions.
TV5 has also seemingly “prepared” the primetime block last month. The Primetime Todo drama strip was abolished, gameshows Bawal na Gameshow and Fill in the Bank, along with teleserye Paano ang Pangako, all moved to earlier timeslots. In their place, a movie block was placed at the 8 to 10pm block, where ABS-CBN Entertainment shows will be aired.
The simultaneous broadcast of ABS-CBN’s primetime block will begin on Monday, right after Paano ang Pangako? on TV5.
